"The Great Wave off Kanagawa" is not only a symbol of Japanese culture but also a key vehicle for the "Japonisme" trend that swept Europe in the 19th century. Its dynamic composition, capture of natural force, and unique use of blue (Prussian blue) deeply inspired Western Impressionist masters, including Van Gogh and Monet. Loresum's selection of this work aims to commemorate this history of East-West artistic fusion. Ingenious Design: Vintage Style Embodying the Soul of Ukiyo-e
To perfectly harmonize with the classical aura of the artwork, Loresum specially selected an elegantly vintage oval-shaped case with smooth, gentle lines. The dial features a meticulously crafted light golden background, resembling aged classical drawing paper, fully presenting the iconic indigo waves, the snow-white Mount Fuji, and the gradient colors of the sky from "The Great Wave off Kanagawa," with exquisite attention to detail. The case is crafted from light golden stainless steel, offering a subtle and soft luster.
The watch is powered by a micro-rotor automatic winding movement. Its ingeniously designed semi-circular rotor moves like a dynamic pearl during operation, not only saving space and revealing the movement's structure but also adding an element of mechanical artistry to the timepiece. It is paired with a hand-stitched high-quality leather strap, ensuring wearing comfort while further accentuating the overall craftsmanship and thoughtful design.
