SPINNAKER AND SECONDE/SECONDE/ RETURN WITH "50 PHANTOMS" — THE FLEUSS 40 AUTOMATIC 2026 EDITION
Spinnaker unveils the FLEUSS 40 AUTOMATIC — SECONDE/SECONDE/ 2026 EDITION, the fourth edition in an annual collaboration that has become a fixture on the enthusiast calendar. This year's concept is a game of hide-and-seek: fifty phantoms are worked into every watch, and finding them is left entirely to the owner. The idea arrives in two temperaments — the outspoken CRAZY and the secretive QUIET.
Both editions share a 40mm stainless steel Fleuss case with
a 47mm lug-to-lug, a box sapphire crystal and a screw-down crown, all water resistant to 10 ATM. The unidirectional bezel is a signature of the design: polished white ceramic, custom-moulded with a wavy edge that echoes the hem of a ghost's robe. Inside is a Japanese Miyota 9 series automatic movement with three hands,
displayed through an exhibition caseback. Hands, applied indexes and the bezel carry Swiss Super-LumiNova.
The two part ways at the dial. The CRAZY (SP-5195-11A) puts its phantoms on show: a multi-layer white dial with printed and embossed ghosts in blue, white, green and yellow, layered between the base and the crystal and fully luminous. The QUIET (SP-5195-11B) does the opposite — a clean matte-white dial with applied silver indexes that keeps its phantoms out of sight, revealing them only under UV light. Half the pleasure, in both cases, is discovering exactly what the two studios have hidden, and where.
Each edition ships with three straps — a solid stainless steel bracelet with a fold-over safety clasp, an orange nylon strap, and a white silicone strap (cut with phantom silhouettes on the CRAZY) — plus a UV torch.
For the first time in the collaboration, the watch arrives in a purpose-built ghost display dome, packaged with a ghost-shaped cleaning cloth. The CRAZY is limited to 1,500 individually numbered pieces and the QUIET to 850.
